August, please be nice.

And so, July is over in a flash and we are well into the second half of the year. I must say that I’ve definitely slackened off quite a bit when it comes to my work prior to July. With deadlines creeping up while I finish up my first year in Prudential, I had no choice but to pull my socks up and meet some criterion. July saw me closing 23k of sales in 5 days which by any measure, is quite a feat, but I would not like any credit. Instead, I want to thank all my friends and family members who lent their support. Thank you for choosing me as your financial adviser. Thank you for those words of encouragement while I made a my sprint in mid July. To everyone who has helped me, directly/indirectly, I am humbled and filled with gratitude for I will never be the adviser that I am today without clients and friends like you all.

As we enter August and with my birthday merely days away, I am still struggling to put together a party this weekend. I know it’s really last minute and I have so many things to do – the caterers, the alcohol, the venue, the guest list. A close friend asked me, “Why do you want to throw a party this year? You’ve been pretty low-key and prefer spending intimate time with those who are close to you, haven’t you?” To which my answer was, maybe it’s about time I threw one to thank them for their friendship. And so, if you receive any invitations within the next few days, please try and make time as it will mean a lot to have you there.

And since I’m talking about my personal life here, I thought I’d throw in a photo I took on Saturday night.

Taken with a recently acquainted friend. Notice I don’t look as ghastly as before? Yes, I have been spending some time in the sun with a few work-outs here and there. I know I still look chubby and it’s going to take ages before I lose all that extra baggage I’ve put on but I’m working on it (and I hope by September Yvonne will be able to see my adam apple once again.)
